Gourmet airport cuisine
To lure travelers, first-class meals became more enticing as airlines started to offer dishes by celebrity chefs such as Stephan Pyles, Charlie Trotter, Michelle Bernstein and Gordon Ramsay.
Nowadays, airports are following suit. To enhance the transit experience, airport environments are striving for that feeling of a market or city center by bringing diners something beyond fast food and pre-packaged snacks – haute cuisine, fine wines and regional flavor.
Terminal B of Logan airport is where you’ll find Todd English, celebrated owner and chef of Bonfire restaurant in downtown Boston. Travelers can enjoy his Argentinean steakhouse fare at the airport outpost, by making sure they get to Logan even earlier than usual to enjoy a 14oz prime aged sirloin. English also has a restaurant called Figs in La Guardia that serves up mouthwatering Mediterranean dishes.
Want to experience the ultimate airport meal? Travelers can look forward to a Michelin Star dining experience at Restaurant Top Air in Germany’s Stuttgart Airport.
