Airline travel goes elite to compete

The biggest trend in travel these days is a desire for individualized and customized vacation experiences. And given the harsh economic conditions in the airline industry and the hyper- competitive market, airports and airlines are going the extra mile to attract more affluent flyers.

Formerly only available to dignitaries and Heads of State, Quintessentially Driven is launching Heathrow by Invitation to provide clients with personalized VIP services that include: airport transfer to Heathrow airport, private entrance and lounge and a dedicated VIP team, all designed to make the travel experience comfortable and efficient. It also features limo-to-plane transport, where clients can board before all other passengers have done so.

Not to be outdone, American Airlines is also launched its Five Star Service – a personal one-on-one airport assistance program so that anyone can “travel like a star.” The $125 service includes meeting customers curbside or at the arrival gate; assistance at check-in and with baggage; expediting customers through security, immigration, customs, and baggage claim; and escort  to the gate with pre-boarding assistance.
